Supercharge your social media

Want to boost your social media engagement?

Need to stand out more in the clamour of social chatter?

It's Instagram this, and 'hashtag' that nowadays; it's hard to make your content stand out, to keep it fresh and to encourage regular engagement with shares and likes.  Don't worry Cognitive can help - we have a strong track record in boosting engagement with our client's social content.

At Cognitive, we can help you stand out on the social scene, giving you an edge over your competitors and helping you to build a loyal following, with visually interesting content for your audience to like and share.

Did you know that researchers found that coloured visuals increase people's willingness to read a piece of content by 80%? (Xerox 2014) and that infographics are liked and shared on social media more than any other type of content? (Mass Planner 2015) and that in fact, visual content is 40 times more likely to be shared on social media than any other content? (Buffer 2014).  Cognitive's scribe style plays to all these criteria and consistently boosts social engagement.

For example, we are currently working with Project Everyone across their Global Goals channels to help advertise the progress being made on the United Nations Goals for Sustainable Development:

Paddy Delaney from Project Everyone said
'We work with Cognitive because they have a track record of being able to present data and facts in an appealing and immediately engaging way..and their work with us often has a massive reach'

The Project

The Goals were launched in 2015 and there are 17 UN goals in total. These goals represent fundamental standards that everyone should be able to expect in their lives, including no poverty, renewable energy and quality education.

Inspiring stuff, but how do you keep momentum and engagement high three years down the line? Enter Cognitive: working with Project Everyone, we have been creating content for The Global Goals social media platforms to engage with the public globally to try and make the goals and any progress made, more widely known and celebrated.

The challenge: Progress updates can be a little dry. So, Project Everyone wanted a more engaging way to present facts and examples of progress.

The solution: We used our visual thinking approach to bring the fact and examples of progress to life in the form of an illustration.

Why an illustration? Because as the research above identified; it works well on social media – visual communication is more engaging and static illustrations are easily shareable without any danger of ‘buffering’.

Taking the data and goals, our illustrators were able to develop unique illustrations that focused attention on some very delicate and difficult topics.

Done sensitively, but with powerful imagery, people are more likely to engage. Also turning this into a weekly campaign with one illustration every week using #FactFriday helped to build a regular engaged audience who kept following because they didn’t want to miss out on what was coming next!

The results for the Global Goals have been extremely positive, the #FactFriday about Gender Equality in Parliaments (see above) globally captured the Zeitgeist during Suffragette month and got the highest number of likes of an Instagram post for the whole Global Goal's campaign.

Sharing an image is far more interesting than just presenting the facts in a paragraph of copy; as was recognised by our clients:

Georgia Alford of Project Everyone said:
'With the images that Cognitive create, we're able to be slightly ahead of the curve, sometimes we have a massive leap in reach with one image that can be seen, understood & shared instantly by thousands of people'

Working with Project Everyone has been inspiring: not just because the goals themselves inspire, but also because we can see the power our work has in creating positive change in the world. Below you can browse some of the work we have done with @TheGlobalGoals
