Wealth Tax and Tax Inequality

The Scrapbook

The gap between the super-rich and the rest of us is growing. The Fight Inequality Alliance and Human Act asked us to create an animated explainer video to draw attention to this and the growing inequality crisis during the World Economic Forum 2020.

The Challenge

When bringing this whiteboard animation to the screen, we had to create an animation which captured the reality of what was happening. It was essential we made the film memorable, shareable and optimised for social media, ensuring the message of The Fight Inequality Alliance and Human Act was able to reach a global audience.

The film

Crucial aspects of our whiteboard animation for The Fight Inequality Alliance and Human Act were its global relevance and relatability. We reinforced these throughout by using a broad range of characters, and by making scenes and characters familiar. From representations of famous billionaires to scenes that have been to those in news media. Recognisable and clear visual language allowed us to communicate the animation’s message in a direct and time efficient way, allowing us to make the film perfect for social media platforms. We took this even further by using the engaging nature of whiteboard animation to make it memorable and shareable. A clear voiceover informed viewers while well-paced animation framed the content and focused the viewer’s attention. The end result was a short but strong animation that delivered The Fight Inequality Alliance and Human Act’s message concisely.
